Whew, what a week! I'm head-down and deep in data as we count down to the launch of our revamped site … NEXT WEEK!  So, I'll keep today's message simple and you'll hear more from me when we go live with the upgraded site.

First, a brief reminder before we get to the pretty garden stuff: if you've used the "My Favorites" feature on the site, you need to log in and save them as a PDF file before our relaunch. You can read more about that here, or better yet, just go do it right now, if you haven't already:

And now, a roundup of some of our most popular plants and combos to provide you with some fresh garden inspiration:
Sunny Mixed Border with Foliage and Flowers
This plant combo for full sun is drought-tolerant and low-maintenance, with something going on in every season:

  • Evergreen foliage in varied shades create a year-round frame—a golden conifer, a rounded shrub with glossy green foliage, and a carpet of variegated grass.
  • Blooms from spring to late summer.
  • The smokebush's burgundy summertime foliage transitions to fiery shades in fall.

This foliage-forward combination looks great virtually year-round. The dwarf conifer, compact box honeysuckle, heuchera, and the rhododendron provide a sturdy but handsome evergreen footing. In spring, the rhodie's new foliage is blushed with bronze and adorned with red blooms. From summer onward, the variegated purple moor grass contributes its airy froth.
Plant Combo with Bronze, Yellow and Blue Foliage
And if you're feeling adventuresome, round out this combo with some summertime blooms in complementary warm tones.

Here's a couple of suggestions to get you started (click through for IDs and full info):

Not to worry, check eGardenGo for ideas of what to pair with your new purchases. If we don't have the exact plant on our site yet, this post will help you figure out how to make substitutions, while maintaining the overall look and feel of the planting combination you're using for inspiration.
