Above, I'm sharing a video tour of a client garden. I've been working in this garden since 2021, but this summer is different — I'm going to be here regularly, not just for periodic visits spread months apart.
That matters more than it might sound. My best ideas almost always come from watching a garden closely over time — noticing what's thriving, what's not, what wants to be edited or moved. That's something I get to do constantly in my own garden, but it's rare in client work, where visits are usually spaced out and a lot happens in between.
I'll be doing several of these videos over time this summer. Right now, I'm asking you to join me on a walk through the front garden, with a quick pass through part of the back. The garden is also in Portland, Zone 8b/9a, same as my own, though the growing conditions are quite different from what I work with at home, and the space itself is much larger.
The video is full of plant combinations and color echoes — hydrangeas, hostas, and some really choice Japanese maples. Plants are identified throughout, with many linking to live pages on the eGardenGo website, so you can look up anything that catches your eye. |
