Peruse Pollinator Friendly Plants
Share me!

In recognition of National Pollinator Week (June 19-25, 2017), I'm spotlighting plants and combos that perform the important work of providing hospitality for these illustrious garden guests. Planting a variety of flowering plants, selected to offer a steady succession of pollen-producing blooms over many months, will keep your garden abuzz with activity and, of course you'll get to enjoy the gorgeous results all season long.

The Pollinator Partnership site is a treasure trove of fantastic information about this fundamental need and is loaded with useful ideas and advice for supporting our pollinators. One thing that I really liked was that they have region-specific guides. This link takes you to one that covers Oregon and Washington state, but wherever you garden, you should be able to find an equally helpful guide here.

The eGardenGo site includes many plants that are attractive to pollinators— wonderful plants that'll enliven your garden with bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds—click below to use our powerful filters that will help you identify garden ideas to fit your growing conditions and attract pollinators and other wildlife.
When you land at the site, you'll want to narrow the presented options to a smaller, more suitable subset to fit your specific situation—you can hone in by selecting your growing zone, the exposure of your site, water conditions, and other applicable attributes (this video walks you through this process)  From those remaining, find a plant or a combo that suits your fancy, then click through for full details and planting combination ideas.

Now that we've revamped site, it's gotten tons easier for me to add new content—so plants and combos are once again being added to the site at a lively pace. New content, coupled with more effective search and filtering, will make the site easier to use and I expect that it will likely serve up a fresh take on existing content as well, even if you've been a regular user.

Delve in and let me know what you think!
To creating vibrant and lively gardens,
P. S. I'd love to hear what search criteria would be helpful to you as you use the site. What filters or terms are missing? What garden dilemmas do you encounter?
