If the forecast unfolds as planned, we're going to be feeling the sun on our faces for awhile here in the Portland area—finally!

Around here, they're calling for HOT temps early next week, before settling into a more mild, and by my reckoning, much more pleasant, stretch of weather which will be sunny, but cooler.

Fingers crossed that they got the first part of that forecast wrong and that we won't see those highs. But if not, a warning: intense sun can burn fresh foliage, so if you have a special plant you'd like to protect from harm, you might want to shield it from the hottest rays when and if they arrive.

In any case — it's planting time, for sure! What garden plans are you dreaming up? I've collected a few of my favorite plant combos that are looking especially fresh.
As usual, click through for the full rundown on the plants included in each.

What I love most about Garden Design magazine is how the stories are allowed to unfoldmany of them span 8 to 20 pages, illustrated with luscious photography, and—here's the big one—no ads! It feels more like a book than a magazine.

If you haven't seen the magazine yet, this is a great issue to start off with—friends of eGardenGo get their first issue free with a paid subscription.

We're getting very close to our site relaunch and I'm about to burst with anticipation. Though as we're working through final details, we've encountered an issue with the migration of saved favorites to the new site.
