| Small gardens are the norm nowadays, and planting space is at a premium. So when selecting plants for my garden and the gardens I make with clients, I’m always on the lookout for plants that are attractive for multiple seasons, preferably year-round.
This often means they’re evergreen, but that’s certainly not the only way to make the cut. Plants offering seasonal gifts of flower, fragrance, colorful foliage, fiery fall color, or decorative winter stems are treasured for their role in counting cadence for the seasons.
