This is my front yard, a snapshot from last April. My garden is my living laboratory for ideas that fuel eGardenGo. Come see the inspiration behind the website and chat about all things gardening!

Visit My Garden — Saturday, April 19, 10 am - 2 pm

Come to the eGardenGo "Rent Party" and Talk Plants With Darcy!

Hi Gardeners,

Spring is in full swing, and my garden is bursting with life!  I've been spending every spare moment outdoors, enjoying the blooms, watching things grow, and just generally soaking it all in.

My garden is truly my testing ground and playground for plants. I'm always experimenting with new varieties, trying different combinations, and learning along the way. This experience fuels my work on eGardenGo, where I share my knowledge and plant combinations to help other gardeners create beautiful gardens that are also practical and horticulturally sound.

eGardenGo is a labor of love, and I'm so grateful to hear from users about how helpful it's been for them. Keeping the website active, updated, and healthy is not cost-free, and while memberships and advertising help, I need to find ways to support it, so I can keep it going.

That's why I'm excited to open up my garden on April 19th to visitors who are curious about plants and garden design. But here's the deal: this event is like a "rent party," a type of event dating to Harlem in the 1920s, when tenants put on house parties to raise money for rent. In this case, the "rent" I'm looking to pay is the cost of keeping the eGardenGo site up and running. I want this "garden rent party" to be a fun, informal gathering where you can enjoy my garden and get a chance to talk plants with me. I love talking plants and sharing my knowledge with others.

So feel free to drop by my garden any time 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, April 19 to chat about plants, the evolution of my garden, my thoughts on garden design in general, and anything else that comes up. A suggested donation of $15 will help keep eGardenGo thriving. You can make donations on site in cash, check, or through Venmo. Or you can even set up a recurring monthly contribution (there's a link on the website for doing so). No one will be turned away for lack of funds, and if you're able to give more, that's wonderful! So come on over and have a look around! Stay as long as you like, and take time to explore the many, many plants in my collection.

If you haven't visited my garden before and need my address, respond to this message, and I'll send you directions. (I know many of my subscribers are outside the greater Portland area, so I'm sorry about that as I'd love to meet you all!)

If this gathering goes well, I might do it again on a periodic basis. My garden changes a lot throughout the year and through the seasons, so there's always something new to see. I look forward to seeing you!
