Take a Stroll with Me — My Front Yard Garden |
Hi Gardeners,
Last week, I shared a walk-through my back garden, and this week, you can check out my front garden in its early spring state.
I’ve really enjoyed reviving my YouTube channel and connecting with all of you. Thank you for all the views and comments on the recent garden tours—your feedback means a lot to me!
It’s inspired me to keep the content coming. I’m currently working on an in-depth look at my rhododendrons, and a fern-focused video is also in the works. I’m always open to your ideas, so feel free to leave comments on the current videos; that’s the best way for me to keep track.
So, without further ado, take a stroll through my lush front yard garden in Portland, OR (Zone 8b). I’m excited to share this vibrant spring display with you! |

Garden Highlights |
These scenes from my garden this week are making me happy right now. |

This plant combination has brought me joy throughout the seasons. Even before they bloom, the buds of Rhododendron 'Kaitlyn's Delight' boast vibrant colors that rival the eventual flowers. Also featured in this vignette is Carex phyllocephala 'Sparkler' (left), adding a stunning starburst of variegated foliage. |

My clematis collection has been growing over the last several years, and some are getting quite established, such that I have a steady stream of flowers from my many plants. This video gives you an idea of the many varieties of clematis that are available. Pictured above: Clematis macropetala 'Markham's Pink'. |

I have quite a few unique rhododendrons in my garden. There are two pictured above: Rhododendron makinoi (left) and Rhododendron 'Ebony Pearl' (right) in this shady section of my backyard garden. Both are in flower now, but remain interesting even after the flowers fade as they were both selected for foliage first. As Rhododendron makinoi's pink flowers fade, its unfurling foliage is equally showy. Similarly, Rhododendron 'Ebony Pearl' has an equally striking second act. |
