The days are getting longer,
the weather a tad more promising (here in the west, that is),
and garden show season is in full swing!

It's the perfect time for dreaming up plans for this year's garden!

In today's message, I've got three ways for you to get an infusion of creative energy.

Sneak Peek: Getting Beyond Pinterest Presentation
Just getting back from a wonderful trip to Boise where I gave two talks, including my newest presentation, Getting Beyond Pinterest, the one I've been talking about for a while. A special shout-out and welcome to all the new subscribers from the Intermountain WestI really enjoyed my visit, and I was super impressed with the Idaho Nursery and Landscape Association's (INLA) event.

I'll be giving the Getting Beyond Pinterest talk next at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show (NWFGS) in Seattle. I speak on Friday and you can get those details here. I'll let you know about other speaking dates in a future message. There will be a number of times and places we'll be able to connect.

Another fun and interesting thing that I'll be doing at the NWFGS show is that I've been invited to be a judge for the Garden Design Magazine awards. I'll be getting a first look at the show gardens on Tuesday, before the show opens, with my fellow judges. That will be really fun and if you want to follow along, be sure to follow me on one of my social media channels, where I'll be posting photos.
The stuff that daydreams are made of, that's how I'd describe the pages of Garden Design Magazine. Few things are more satisfying than cozying up and flipping through this gorgeous magazine. I expect my latest copy will have arrived by the time I get home, and I look forward to discovering the delights within its pages.

How to Get Your Invite to the Champagne Charette
For our Portland-area subscribers, we've set the date for our first patron-only eventFriday, Feb 2, 5pm to 7pmand it's not too late to get your invite!

This is a small group event, limited to 10 people. There are still a few spots left—you can guarantee your spot in this interactive and fun workshop by becoming a patron at the Cultivator level or above. Patrons at that level will be automatically invited to attend the charette—but hurry! This is first-come, first-serve, so only the first few new patrons at that level will qualify.

Not ready to commit at that level? Not to worry. I’ve reserved two seats for other patronsthey'll be entered into a drawing for one of the two seats on Monday, Jan. 22 at 5pm. The winners will be invited to attend the design charette and open house.

For our non-Portland area subscribers, I'll be working on ways to create some fun events of this ilk—in-person, online, or both—that you'll be able to participate in. So even if you can't make it to Portland on Feb 2, there are still lots of reasons to consider making a pledge.
